Consultation

Korean vs. traditional lash lifts: a consultation guide for studios

By Brian ·

A client asks whether a Korean lash lift is better than a traditional lift. Start with the service you actually provide: the products, the shield selection, the finish and the aftercare. The labels alone do not describe a universal technical process.

Explain the process behind the name

Two studios can use the same service name and work with different products or techniques. Describe your own steps in plain language. If you use words such as “glueless” or “gentle,” explain what they mean in your treatment rather than presenting them as a guarantee of safety or performance.

Five points to cover in the consultation

  1. The intended finish. Ask whether the client wants a defined root lift or a softer-looking curve. Reference photos can make that conversation clearer.
  2. Shield selection. Explain how lash length, eye shape and the desired result inform your choice.
  3. Products and steps. Describe the system you use and where conditioning care fits. Do not imply every Korean lift uses the same chemistry.
  4. Preparation. Give instructions about mascara, lash serum and arriving with clean lashes before the appointment.
  5. Aftercare. Set out when the client may cleanse, wear mascara and resume their usual products, following your chosen system.

Separate the treatment from daily care

A lift changes the shape of the natural lashes through a professional process. A cosmetic serum has a different role. Avoid promising that a serum will improve the lift or extend its duration. Give product-specific instructions about when clients can return to their routine.

Where Salon Jieun fits

The Salon Jieun collection includes Dream Rods, patches and treatment support products. It does not include lifting or setting lotions. Select a compatible professional system and follow its instructions alongside the relevant Salon Jieun product guide.

A useful way to explain it

“Let’s choose the finish you want, then I’ll explain how the products and tools I use help me work toward it.” That gives clients something more useful than a comparison based on a country name.
